For the record…

I am not an atheist. However, I’ve been coming across a lot of quotes that point out the silliness and futility of not respecting each others’ beliefs. The bottom line is being true to yourself - and upholding the right of everyone else to be true to themselves in their own way. I can’t see how the God that I believe in would be happy with Ira Glass professing a belief that wasn’t really there. I also can’t see how it’s part of my responsibility to convince Mr. Glass of God’s existence. We are all thinking beings with worlds hidden in our hearts - we are brothers and sisters, like it or not. We owe each other respect and love and consideration and understanding.
